Event Rules & Regulations

Familiarize yourself with these rules and regulations, as ignorance will not be accepted. By registering for this event, you agree to follow the rules and regulations governing the event and agree to be bound by the decisions of the event officials.

All rules will be 100% enforced.

New rules are in effect — read all rules carefully.

GENERAL RULES

1. You must read and understand all of the rules. If you have any questions or concerns, bring them to the Rules Committee.

2. 4WD vehicles ONLY allowed to enter any of the events. AWD permitted only if selectable 4WD (high and low) is present
    

3. All drivers must have and produce a valid driver’s license (minimum Class 5 or N) on both Saturday and Sunday morning and at any time an official may request to see it.
    

4. Any entrant under the age of nineteen must have a parent or guardian’s written signature on the registration form.
    

5. Alcohol and Drugs:
   
   If the driver, navigator, pit crew, or any associated individual (+1s) is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the vehicle will be disqualified and not allowed to enter any remaining events. Refunds will not be issued.
    

   • Absolutely no open alcohol is permitted in the pits during racing events.

   • The end of race day will be signalled by three long blasts of the air horn.

   • Intoxicated individuals may not re-enter the pits until the race day has been completed.

   • Signs of intoxication are grounds for disqualification of the associated race vehicle for the remainder of the event, at the discretion of the Race Committee.
      

   • Individuals wishing to dispute this decision may request a breathalyzer test from a law enforcement officer.
      

6. All vehicles must have and produce valid registration and insurance to enter any event.
   Minimum $5,000,000 liability insurance is required.
    

7. All vehicles must pass technical inspection to enter any events.

8. Breakdown repairs are allowed. If you cannot be at the start line immediately following the entrant ahead of you, you must notify the Pit Boss prior to your run slot. You will then and only then be allowed to run at the back of the pack after originally posted start slots in numerical order.
    

9. No pets are allowed anywhere on the grounds.
    

10. All vehicles must stage in groups of 10.
     

11. The event organizers reserve the right to change or alter these rules if necessary.
     

12. In all events other than the Rally, fire suits are mandatory for both driver and navigator. All fire suits must be SFI rated. Sharing suits or other PPE is not permitted.

The following are not acceptable substitutes:

• Coveralls

• Forestry suits

• Firefighter suits

• Any non-certified protective clothing
   

1. Minimum participant age is 14.
    

2. Violence of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate ban.
    

3. Abusive or disrespectful behavior toward race officials, club executives, volunteers, or hired staff will result in disqualification.
    

4. Vandalism of club facilities or other racers’ property will result in an immediate ban.
    

5. Lost or damaged wristbands must be reported to race officials for replacement.
   If outside the pits, contact the front gate to radio pit officials.
    

6. Closed-toe footwear is required in the pits and during racing.
    

 

RACER CODE OF CONDUCT

All racers are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and sportsmanlike manner at all times. Unsafe or unsportsmanlike behavior may result in penalties, disqualification, or removal from the event.

 

PIT RULES & CAMPING

• No wood fires. Propane only.
   

• Whenever a race vehicle engine is running or being started, someone must be seated in the driver’s seat with full control and within reach of the engine shutoff.
   

• Race vehicles may not be operated after Saturday’s events without supervision of a club member.
   

• Race vehicles may not leave the grounds without notifying a board member.
   

• No running of race vehicles after dark.
   

• No driving on the track, hill, or back roads outside scheduled events.
   

• Camping is for racers and immediate family only. No additional guests after 10:00 PM.
   

• Golf carts, quads, dirt bikes, and similar vehicles are not permitted.
  (Exception: Executives and Pit Boss team.)
   

• No dogs allowed anywhere on the grounds.
   

• Children under 10 are not permitted in the pits without arm’s-length adult supervision.
   

• Closed-toe footwear is required in the pit during race hours.
   

 

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS & REGULATIONS

1. All vehicles must carry a fully charged, securely mounted ABC-rated fire extinguisher within reach of the driver and navigator while seated and harnessed.
    

   • Fire extinguisher must not be expired.

   • Must be properly mounted (no zip ties, duct tape, etc.).

   • Must be easily accessible.
      

2. Only one primary type of fuel may be used.
   Alcohol fuel is not allowed.
   
   Allowed:

   • Water-methanol injection (not considered a fuel source)

   • Nitrous oxide (oxidizer, not fuel)
      

3. In-cab air systems are not allowed for nitrous equipped vehicles.
    

4. Snorkels or air intake systems passing over or beside the cab must have a scatter shield to protect occupants in the event of an explosion.
   
   PVC or ABS pipe may not be used for snorkels.
    

5. All open or roofless vehicles must have rollover protection.
    

6. Vehicles equipped with nitrous must have a roll cage.
    

7. Drivers certify that their vehicle and roll cage are safe and suitable for the event.
    

8. Vehicles equipped with 4- or 5-point harnesses must have rollover protection.
    

9. Helmets must be:

   • Full-face

   • DOT approved or SNELL (SA, M, K)

   • No older than 10 years and in good working order
      

10. Helmets must be worn and securely fastened by both driver and navigator in all events except the Rally.
     

11. Tires
     

• Stock street-legal tires only

• Must have DOT marking on sidewall

• No cut or modified tires
   

1. Vehicles must have full inner fenders and adequate body coverage, including fender flares or mud flaps.
    

2. Dual rear wheels are allowed but must be fully covered by fenders.
    

3. Hub caps and beauty rings are not allowed.
    

4. Beadlocks are not allowed.
    

5. Vehicles must have tow hooks or D-rings on both front and rear.
    

6. Vehicles with aftermarket electric fuel pumps are recommended to install a low oil pressure shutoff switch.
    

7. Highly modified vehicles must have a “kill-switch” mounted on the rear of the vehicle so power can be cut to all systems in the event of a crash. 

   1. kill switch should be to the rear of the vehicle and well labeled/identified

   2. aftermarket ignition or aftermarket fuel pumps require kill switch

   3. vehicles with a kill switch should be noted to race officials

8. Each truck must bring a tow strap:
    

• Minimum 10,000 lb rating 

• No rope allowed

• Must be attached to vehicle

• Must not be frayed or damaged

• Sharing recovery gear is not permitted
   

1. Vehicles must have mechanical primary steering.
   Hydraulic assist is allowed.
   Full hydraulic steering is not allowed.
    

2. No electric vehicles or hybrids permitted.
    

3. Vehicles must have complete body panels including hood and doors for all openings.
    

4. Flat decks are allowed if wheel coverage is maintained and the driver signs off confirming the deck is secure.
    

5. The race committee may re-inspect vehicles at any time.
    

6. Engines must remain in factory location with factory firewall.
    

7. Seat belts and harnesses must be in good working order 

8. Heim joint style on steering and suspension components are not allowed
    

9. Vehicles must have a full OEM frame.
    

Allowed frame modifications include:

• Plating

• Roll protection attachment

• Boxing

• Gusseting

• Reinforcement

• Rust repair (like-for-like)

• Bumper/stinger attachment

• Suspension mounting
   

Not allowed:

• Removal of frame components

• Replacement with square tube

• Performance frame modifications

 

 

SECOND CLASS TECH

All standard tech rules apply except:

Allowed:

• Frame performance modifications

• Cut tires

• Removal of inner fenders (with wheel coverage)

• Beadlocks

• Engine relocation

• Firewall modification

• Optional windshield

• Heim joint style on steering and suspension components
   

Required:

• Rollover protection

• Kill switch

• Full-length OEM frame.
   

Not allowed:

• Rear-mounted engines

• Methanol fuel

• Ag tires

• 4 wheel steering
   

 

RACE RULES

1. All vehicles must have two occupants: driver and navigator (except hill climb recovery rules).
    

2. Seat belts or harnesses must be worn and secured.
    

3. No loose articles inside the vehicle during competition. Cameras must be securely mounted.
    

4. Mufflers required during Road Rally. Open headers permitted in other events.
    

5. Chains are not allowed.
    

6. No reruns unless course changes affect fairness.
    

7. Vehicles have two attempts to cross the start line. Once you have passed the 10 foot mark restarts are not allowed.
    

8. Leaving before the start flag results in disqualification.
    

9. Complaints will be resolved by the Rules Committee or event organizer.
    

10. Helmets, neck braces, and race suits are mandatory in all events except Rally.
     

11. After crossing the finish line, vehicles must:
     

• Stop completely for 5 seconds

• Raise hands

• Wait for direction from officials
   

1. Windows must remain rolled up during Hill Climb, Mud Bog, All-Terrain, and Powder Puff events unless a window net is installed.
    

2. Any body part outside the vehicle during these events results in automatic disqualification.
    

 

RALLY EVENT

1. Vehicles must be street legal.
    

2. Minimum two occupants per vehicle.
    

3. Additional passengers allowed only if all occupants have seat belts.
    

4. All occupants must sign the liability waiver.
    

5. Major violations (open headers, drinking, burnouts, etc.) result in disqualification from all remaining events.
    

6. All traffic laws must be followed.
    

7. Speed limit on dirt roads 60 km/h unless otherwise posted.
   Slow to 30 km/h when passing cyclists or pedestrians.
    

8. Distracted driving is not permitted.
    

9. Event-specific rules do not override these rules.
    

 

HILL CLIMB

• Vehicle must maintain forward motion.
   

• Vehicle must stay within marked boundaries.
   

• If boundary is crossed or vehicle is black flagged:
   

  • Stop immediately
     

  • Wait for measurement
     

  • Await recovery or official instruction
     

• Vehicles must back down straight and controlled.
   

• No turning around.
   

• Distances over 200 ft require top recovery.
   

• Navigators may not exit vehicle unless directed by officials.
   

 

MUD BOG

• Modifications allowed but must pass tech.
   

• Forward motion must be maintained.
   

• Vehicles have 5 seconds to regain forward motion.
   

• Tow strap must be attached before entering pit.
   

• Strap may not be loose inside the cab.
   

• Vehicle must stay within boundaries.
   

• Navigator may exit only after full stop for recovery.
   

• Participants may not enter mud pit except for recovery.
   

• Footwear must remain on in mud pit.
   

 

ALL-TERRAIN

• Vehicle must stay within marked course.
   

• Course must be completed as directed.
   

• Vehicles may reverse to correct course errors.
   

• Maximum time: 5 minutes
  (or 3 minutes in two-run format).
   

• Mid-event repairs not permitted.
   

 

POWDER PUFF

1. Women only.
    

2. Women who drove in All-Terrain cannot compete.
    

3. Vehicle must have completed two main events.
    

4. Disqualified vehicles may not enter.
    

5. Maximum 10 entries with 5 standby.
    

6. Entry ticket must be given to the starter.
    

7. 3-minute maximum run time.
    

8. Failure to line up promptly results in no run and no refund.
    

9. All other general and All-Terrain rules apply.
    

 

VOLUNTEERS / STAFF / CONTRACTORS

• Must follow all pit rules during race day.

• Must remain sober while working.

• Alcohol is not permitted in the pits.

• Volunteers must complete the full duration of their assigned shift.

• Disrespectful language toward officials, volunteers, racers, staff, or spectators will not be tolerated.

• Violence or vandalism results in removal and ban from future events.

• No entering the track without radio authorization.

• Camping permitted for volunteers and immediate family only.

• No pets allowed anywhere on the grounds, including inside vehicles.
